MEET OUR EDUCATORS

Carol Novak
Program Director
Carol brings nearly 40 years of experience to Treehouse. She earned a BS in Elementary Education (minor in Math) from the University of North Texas as part of the Meadows Honors Scholars program, along with two Master’s degrees in Elementary Education and Counseling & Student Services. A certified school and grief counselor, she blends classroom and counseling expertise to help students build confidence and reach those “ah-ha” moments.

Alexandria Abbrat
College Prep Director
Alexandria holds a degree in Creative Writing and a Master’s in Higher Education, with experience in teaching, counseling, and academic advising. Known for her personal approach, she meets students where they are and helps them build confidence through engaging, thoughtful learning experiences. Outside of work, she enjoys writing and creating imaginative, adventure-driven ways to make learning fun.

Jinny Cockrell
Dyslexia Therapy Program Director
Jinny has 26+ years of experience in education, including work as a dyslexia therapist. She holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from UNT and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Texas A&M Commerce, and is both a Certified Academic Language Therapist and Licensed Dyslexia Therapist. She’s passionate about helping students gain understanding and confidence. Outside of Treehouse, she enjoys reading, baking, and cheering on her daughter at Texas A&M.

Cecilia Rozario
Tutor
Cecilia is a biomedical engineering major at the University of North Texas, with a minor in materials science engineering and two years of tutoring experience. She genuinely enjoys watching students build skills over time and gain confidence along the way. Outside of working with students, she likes baking and making jewelry, and she’s excited to meet new learners and support their growth.

Malika Elakattu
Tutor
Malika is a senior at Founders Classical Academy in Lewisville, where she takes a mix of honors, AP, and dual-credit classes, including English, biology, philosophy, and rhetoric. She also serves as the social president of her school’s drill team, the Silhouettes. Malika truly enjoys helping younger students build confidence and discover what they’re capable of. When she’s not studying or working with kids, you’ll usually find her hanging out with friends or staying active with her team.

Tristan Jaramillo
Tutor
Tristan is a senior at Guyer High School and has dedicated a lot of time to supporting other students, whether that’s serving as a mentor in Partner PE, volunteering at the 2023 Special Olympics, or working as a teacher’s aide for Algebra 1. He truly enjoys helping kids build confidence through tutoring and watching that progress develop. Outside of school, Tristan stays active with running and workouts and never turns down ice cream.

Zach Nadeau

Zach earned his master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UNT in 2025, with emphases in mathematics and higher education. He brings over 6 years of experience as a mathematics tutor and instructor, supporting learners in settings ranging from one-on-one sessions to lecture halls of 90+ students. Known for his patience, clarity, and thoughtfulness, Zach is committed to helping every learner build confidence and understanding on the path to student success. Whenever he's not working, Zach enjoys gaming, picking up new skills, and connecting with friends.

Tarrin Henry
Tutor
Tarrin is a certified teacher with 23 years of experience as a classroom educator and Literacy Specialist. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Elementary Education, a minor in Psychology, and an Early Childhood Endorsement, and has received honors including Teacher of the Year in Coppell ISD. With extensive literacy training, she supports both students and teachers by meeting individual learning styles and building confidence. Outside of work, she enjoys sports, cooking, boating, and time with her family.

Sophia Peters
Tutor
Sophia is a senior at Guyer High School and an AP Scholar with Distinction. She is currently taking advanced classes like calculus, physics, and chemistry. She loves tutoring because she enjoys explaining concepts and helping students see that learning can be engaging and even fun. When she’s not studying or working with students, she enjoys baking and cooking. She hopes to study biochemistry or biophysics on a pre-med track at UT Austin or Texas Tech.
