Meet Our Educators

Alexandria Abbrat
Enrollment Director
Alexandria holds a degree in Creative Writing and a Master’s in Higher Education, and she’s spent years working in teaching, counseling, and academic advising. What truly stands out is her personal approach to each student. She takes the time to get to know students individually, meets them where they are, and helps them build genuine confidence as they develop. Her experience enables her to create learning experiences that are thoughtful, achievable, and truly engaging. When she’s not working with students, you’ll often find her with a notebook or a set of dice, imagining creative ways to make learning feel like an adventure rather than a chore.

Carol Novak
Skills-Based Learning Program Director
Carol brings a wealth of experience to Treehouse. She participated in the Meadows Honors Scholars program at the University of North Texas, earned her BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Math, and completed not just one but two Master’s degrees — one in Elementary Education and another in Counseling and Student Services. She is also certified as both a school counselor and a grief counselor. With nearly 40 years in education, Carol has seen almost everything, and what still excites her are those “ah-ha” moments when a child finally understands something. By blending her classroom experience with her counseling background, she helps students quickly build confidence and move forward with clarity and momentum.

Jinny Cockrell
Dyslexia Therapy Program Director
Jinny has over 26 years of experience in education, including four years as a dyslexia therapist. She earned a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from UNT and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Texas A&M Commerce, along with certifications as a Certified Academic Language Therapist and a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist. What she loves most is helping students finally understand concepts they’ve been struggling with and seeing their confidence return. Outside of Treehouse, Jinny enjoys reading, baking, and cheering on her daughter, who attends Texas A&M.

Cecilia Rozario
Tutor
Cecilia is a biomedical engineering major at the University of North Texas, with a minor in materials science engineering and two years of tutoring experience. She genuinely enjoys watching students build skills over time and gain confidence along the way. Outside of working with students, she likes baking and making jewelry, and she’s excited to meet new learners and support their growth.

Grace Kivlehan
Tutor
Grace is a senior at Guyer High School and has taken both AP World History and AP English. She loves tutoring because she remembers what it’s like to work through tough material herself and enjoys helping other students do the same. Outside of tutoring, Grace spends her time creating art, reading, and exploring photography. She plans to study photography and business in college.

Malika Elakattu
Tutor
Malika is a senior at Founders Classical Academy in Lewisville, where she takes a mix of honors, AP, and dual-credit classes, including English, biology, philosophy, and rhetoric. She also serves as the social president of her school’s drill team, the Silhouettes. Malika truly enjoys helping younger students build confidence and discover what they’re capable of. When she’s not studying or working with kids, you’ll usually find her hanging out with friends or staying active with her team.

Sophia Peters
Tutor
Sophia is a senior at Guyer High School and an AP Scholar with Distinction. She is currently taking advanced classes like calculus, physics, and chemistry. She loves tutoring because she enjoys explaining concepts and helping students see that learning can be engaging and even fun. When she’s not studying or working with students, she enjoys baking and cooking. She hopes to study biochemistry or biophysics on a pre-med track at UT Austin or Texas Tech.

Tristan Jaramillo
Tutor
Tristan is a senior at Guyer High School and has dedicated a lot of time to supporting other students, whether that’s serving as a mentor in Partner PE, volunteering at the 2023 Special Olympics, or working as a teacher’s aide for Algebra 1. He truly enjoys helping kids build confidence through tutoring and watching that progress develop. Outside of school, Tristan stays active with running and workouts and never turns down ice cream.
